Study in Hawai'i

Join me to study Hawaiian hula kahiko (pre-contact hula), hula auana (post-contact hula), mele (music), Samoan siva afi (fire dance and fire knife drumming), and Tahitian drumming.  Spend 10 days on the North Shore of Oahu studying music, dance, and other art forms of Polynesia, visiting important historical and cultural sites, and learning directly from other kumu (teachers).  No previous experience is required and is open to ages 12+.  Special attention is given to current music educators as to how to apply these art forms into your classroom to promote greater intercultural understanding.

Trips occur each December and May/June and space is extremely limited.  For more information, sign up for the trip mailing list below.
